Системы инфракрасного отопления предназначены для отопления помещений большой площади и высоты. При использовании в данных помещениях систем инфракрасного отопления, достигается наивысший экономический эффект по сравнению с традиционными методами отопления.

В первую очередь, указанный выигрыш в экономии энергии, требуемой на отопление, достигается благодаря основному принципу действия систем инфракрасного отопления — прямой передачи тепла всем физическим предметам, находящимся в зоне действия аппарата. При передаче тепла с помощью тепловых (инфракрасных) волн отсутствует промежуточный теплоноситель — воздух. Следовательно, затраты энергии для достижения необходимого баланса тепла в рабочей зоне минимальны. Согласно расчетам, тепловая потребность производственных помещений при использовании инфракрасного отопления на 10-40% меньше, чем при конвективном отоплении.
